Fabrizio Carotti, lawyer, chartered accountant and auditor, has been General Director of the Italian Federation of Newspaper Publishers (FIEG) since 7 February 2011.
Since 12 April 2012 he has been Vice President of INPGI, the National Social Security Institute for Italian Journalists, and since 2021 he has been Professor of Economics and Management of Publishing Companies at Lumsa University in Rome.
Mr. Carotti had already held the position of Director of FIEG, from 2005 to 2007; in 2007 he was appointed Director General of Finance (formerly Head of the Department for Fiscal Policies) of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and subsequently took on the role of Director General of Messaggero SpA.
He was a member of the CNEL, National Council of Economy and Labor, representing the Federation, from March 24, 2011 to January 20, 2012; from June 16, 2011 to April 28, 2015 President of the ADS, Press Circulation Assessments and from December 2012 to February 16, 2015 President of the Consorzio Edicola Italiana. Subsequently, from November 27, 2012 to January 27, 2016, he was President of the Complementary Pension Fund for Italian Journalists.
