Paolo Baratella (Bologna, 1935). Born to parents from Ferrara, his hometown is Bologna, where he spent his childhood, where he showed a precocious talent for drawing, so much so that at the age of six he decided to become a painter. During the war years he returned to Ferrara. From 1960 he began to exhibit in Milan and in other Italian and European cities, continuing his artistic and exhibition activity to this day. His first solo exhibition in the Lombard capital dates back to 1961. In 2006 he frescoed the new sacristy of the Cathedral of Ferrara. His work is characterized by vast pictorial cycles inspired by contemporaneity and in particular by the violence of power in its different forms. In addition to the use of oil and acrylics, he also carries out research in the field of photographic reproductions, lithography and silkscreen printing.
